North Wales Exhibition moves on / Arddangosfa y gogledd yn symud ymlaen

The two north Wales exhibition panels moved on this week to their next destinations – Glasdir Centre, Llanrwst and Penrhyndeudraeth Library, where they will remain until the beginning of September.

Mae arddangosfa y gogledd wedi symud ymlaen yr wythnos yma, i Ganolfan Glasdir, Llanrwst a Llyfrgell Penrhyndeudraeth, lle y byddant yn aros tan ddechrau mis Medi.

Arddangosfa Penrhyndeudraeth ExhibitionWhile I was at Penrhyndeudraeth, I took the opportunity of walking around the site of Cookes Explosives Ltd, which is now a nature reserve, and was amazed to see that some of the buildings have been kept for posterity, including one which I think is one of the cytiau where the women used to work making explosives, Cwt T1. It was quite poignant reading the number of the cwt chalked on the wall. In the big explosion of 1957, three women and one man were killed in the explosion in Cwt P1.

Pan oeddwn i ym Mhenrhyndeudraeth, cymerais y cyfle o gerdded o amgylch safle  Cookes Explosives Ltd, sydd bellach yn warchodfa natur, ac roedd yn syndod i weld bod rhai o’r adeiladau wedi cael eu cadw, gan gynnwys, dw i’n credu, un o’r cytiau lle oedd y merched yn arfer gweithio yn gwneud ffrwydron, Cwt T1. Yr oedd yn deimladwy i ddarllen rhif y cwt hwn mewn sialc ar y wal. Yn y ffrwydrad mawr yn 1957, cafodd dair o ferched ac un dyn eu lladd yn Cwt P1.
